BIO :: An unavoidable entity in Montreal's art scene
Paul Baraka is a creative and accomplished composer. He is talented in many musical styles : beat, lounge, action, animation and pop. He also one of the rare artists that can deliver a complete production in sound. He is a skilled and rare artist that can deliver a final mix that includes Sound FX and music with the same passion and intensity that he has for music.
He is notably known for his contribution in animation series, such as Bob Morane, and documentaries on Louis Garneau, Alain Choquette and Le Chemin de Compostelle with Marcel Leboeuf. Advertising campaigns for SAQ, Germain Larivière and MusiquePlus also featured his music. Furthermore, he brought his contribution to albums, notably for the artist Mario Pelchat. Paul has done most of the arrangements and has worked on the realization of the album.
Paul Baraka's talent has obviously been noticed: he was nominated for Le Gala Des Prix Gémeaux in 1999 and for Les Prix Gemini in 2000 for the music he composed for Bob Morane.
Paul Baraka's universe is everything but ordinary : he is a mystical artist, a fan of electro-industrial beats, a “symphonist” passionate for choral music, a spiritual son of Vangelis, Han Zimmer, Verdi and Carl Orff… Such expressions reflect multiple talents and skills, along with inspiring choral chants and industrial atmospheres.
