Heidi Rathjen was a student at l’École Polytechnique De l’Université de Montréal when 14 young women were killed in 1989. Deeply touched by this terrible event and revolted by the fact that it was too easy to get weapons, she created a huge coallition to impose a better control for weapons. Her fight was won: in 1995, the canadian government adopted a law for weapons control.
